Provide experienced firefighters knowledge and skills to meet min. JPRs as outlined in NFPA 1001.
Full Description
The course is designed for the Fire Fighter I who is ready to assume a leadership role in a department.  The purpose of the Firefighter II course is to provide experienced firefighters with the knowledge and skills to meet the minimum job performance requirements as outlined in NFPA 1001.  Candidates must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to function in fire ground situations so that he/she can make basic evaluations of safety problems and assume leadership roles in carrying out interior attack and search operations and be able to perform the tasks assigned as well as supervise a Firefighter I.  

Major topics covered in the course are incident command, building construction, ventilation, water distribution, hose streams, fixed fire protection systems, fire prevention, inspection preplanning, ladders, and rescue procedures.

Must be certified as either a Firefighter I by having completed and passed the Module C Course (Firefighter I)

Resources Required
Candidates should expect to spend study and practice time outside of class to prepare for the written and practical examinations.

Firefighting gear may be required for the practical skills activity. Students are encouraged to bring personal cameras for use in the practical activity.
