Provide entry level first responders knowledge and skills to meet min. JPRs as outlined in NFPA 472.
Full Description
This course will provide entry level first responders with the knowledge and skills to meet the minimum job performance requirements as outlined in NFPA 472. Additionally, it with provide you how to: Understand what hazardous substances are and the risk associated with them in an incident; Recognize the presence of hazardous substances in an emergency; Understand the role of the emergency responder at the Awareness level, including site security and control; Have understanding of the U.S. Department of Transportation Emergency Response Guidebook; Realize the need for additional resources, call for appropriate assistance, and to make appropriate notifications to the community.

Resources Required
To obtain certification candidates must score at least a 70% on the state written exam and meet ALL prerequisites prior to testing. Candidates should expect to spend study time outside of class to prepare for the written examination.
Reporting Instructions
You will not be allowed to test for this course unless you are 18 years of age or older or have a variance to take a test. If on a variance you will not receive your certification until you meet the age requirement.
