Brief Description: Mandatory FF provides entry level FF with knowledge and skills to meet min. JPRs in Indiana law.

Full Description: The purpose of the Mandatory Firefighter course is to provide entry level firefighters with the knowledge and skills to meet the minimum job performance requirements as outlined in Indiana law. Candidates must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to function safely and effectively on emergency scenes and be able to perform the basic tasks assigned.

Resources Required: To obtain certification candidates must successfully complete all practical skills, score at least a 70% on the state written exam and meet ALL prerequisites prior to testing, unless on a variance.

Candidates should expect to spend study and practice time outside of class to prepare for the written and practical examinations.

Reporting Instructions: You will not be allowed to test for this exam unless you are 18 years or older, or have a variance from the Fire Board. You cannot be Certified unless you are 18 years of age or older and have passed the written and practical skills testing.
